I got a reese farm jack, similar to a high lift. I looked at them both side by side, and i actually liked the cheaper one better. Seems pretty solid. I was just wondering if the 6500 lb clevis shackles were strong enough. I'm getting recovery straps rated for 8000 pounds. got the jack and clevis shackles at tractor supply.

well i know if a shackle is controlled by the american standards association (ASA) and the working load limit or safe load limit says 6500lb it's breaking strength is actually 5 times that and even if the breaking strength is only 6500lb they will be fine if you are using one shackle n each hook cause then they are sharing the load and you would have to put 13000 lbs to break them

You want a tow strap in the 20k lbs range not 8k, looped ends, no hooks.

half the stuff you own is made in china. check the labels. then go to the voting both and convince yourself you're American.

I vote Cliffhanger, I bet you never have. I doubt if you even can.
My Jeep was made in the USA.
Some stuff you do not have a choice to buy USA made like a basketballs or canned mushrooms at Walmart. Some things like a farm jack you do have a choice. I like to support manufacturing and US jobs.
But than that is just me.

I vote every chance I get, but in the state i live in, my votes don't really count. And i support american business as well. I do believe tractor supply is making money on my purchase.

and i get my basketballs american made, from wilson, and my mushrooms from the market. i don't go to wal mart. crucify me for trying to save some money. I have my MBA and am pretty qualified to know the workings of business and where money is going. I'd be willing to bet that somewhere along the line, the money you spent on the hi lift is at least in some portion going overseas. see you at the polls.
