The exhaust spacers are used to help give your front axle more droop. It's more dependent on shock length. If your shocks will allow your axle to droop low enough, your DS will hit the exhaust cross over. It will eventually melt the slip joint boot and any grease in there will end up being flung out. You may also have an issue with the Rzeppa joint at the transfer case, as it wasn't designed for such extreme angles.

I used the exhaust spacers and it helped, but I still hit the exhaust crossover. I ended up replacing my front drive shaft.

If you have a 4 door, the AFE Y-pipe is a better alternative - it moves the exhaust crossover behind the cross member. For a 2 door, Borla has made an exhaust that does the same for a 2 door, although I haven't seen it in person yet.
