I want to get a hi-lift but a saw a similar jack called a farm jack at harbor freight tools for 39.00. I was wondering if anyone had any experience or has heard anything good or bad about this knock-off brand. This is very cheap for this tool, but am i going to get what i pay for?????????

I am not familiar with that brand. Do they have all the mechanical pieces for it, if you have to rebuild it? I don't know if this would be an area to skimp on. But then again, I do not have any experience with that brand. Hopefully someone has used one of those on here, and can give you a better answer.

I am bad, after getting my winch, I mounted it in the garage.

They have brackets to mount them just about anywhere. I have seen them mounted on front, and rear bumpers, hoods, safari racks, tire carriers, etc............even on the roll bar inside the Jeep.

Your imagination is the only limit to were you can mount it.

Sorry about that, keep dropping off. I would imagine that you could get a carriage style bolt, and run it through a lug hole in your wheel, and then through a hole on the high lift. Any hardware store should carry a bolt long enough to do that with. I would also try to find a wing nut to tighten it with. You would probably want to use two bolts to be more secure. I would also recommend hanging it horizontally, so that it doesn't catch a rock on the trail, and mess up your tire carrier.

Just thought of another idea, using a U bolt, and going on either side of your wheel spoke.

I saw the same jack you are talking about here in Phoenix at a store call Pay N Save for 34.99. Go for it. Looks like the exact mechanical parts that are on a hi-lift brand.

I've been eyeing that jack at Harbor Freight for a while now. I'd go with it. I can't tell a difference in the jacks. I think alot of people just pay for the name hi-lift. Screw that!
