My wife just got a 2016 Willys and I noticed there isn't any insulation under the hood. I have a 2015 Rubicon and I have the insulation.

Is this normal? Do non-Rubicons lack hood insulation? Did they drop it for all 2016s?

It's not a big deal I'm just curious. If anyone else has a 2016 and could check I'd appreciate it.

If you are talking about the insulation on the underside of the hood, my 2016 sport does not have it. Never thought to look until you asked.

It doesn't make a difference to me. But when I see inconsistencies it bugs the crap out of me until I can understand why there is a difference. I like to understand things.

The other thing bugging me is that the dealer said the Trail Kit that comes with the Willy's will be mailed to me in a few weeks. Sounds suspicious as I have test driven other Willy's that had the kit in the back of the Wrangler.

So for a second there I thought someone stole my hood insulation. Because I'm already suspecting the dealer is stealing my trail kit. :-(

The Trail Kit is mailed to the dealer independent of the delivery of the vehicle. So it does not come in the back... only if someone went to the parts department, found it, and put it in the car. I wish it came with the vehicle, as most salesmen forget to give it to most people.

My 2014 sport has no insulation. It's news to me that that was an option. Anyhow I hope you get your trail kit quick and enjoy that JEEP!!

The savings in weight alone must be what makes the sport faster. :lmao:

Sorry. I had to. I'm done. :hide:

This changed a month or two back. The Trail Kits are now shipping with (inside) the vehicle as they leave the factory.

EDIT: It was further back then I remember.... Jeep started to ship them inside the Wrangler as of Monday, October 5. Still only Willys, Hard Rocks, and those paying extra for one as an option, will find one.
