This is for a 2015 Wrangler Sport.. There is a pipe that runs behind the middle of the dashboard that extends a bit to the driver's side and the passenger side. I assume this is for the heating system. Is this pipe supposed to be very hot at all times? It's hot at all times, even if the heating knob is tuned to the coldest setting at all times. Is this normal?

TIA

Yes - in your dashboard - you have the heater box. In the box, you have the heater core. The heater core is essentially another radiator.

Hot engine coolant flows through it all the time - regardless if you have the heat on. When you turn the heat on, it opens a door to move the air flow over the heater core - so, it being hot all the time is normal.

With that said - if you're ever in an overheating situation - turning the heat on blast is a good way to help lower the temp relatively quickly.
