Daimler's German engineers certainly did a nice job of correcting the suspension geometry on the Jeep JK platform.
Not sure of Mercedes contracted the design work out the BMW but it works whoever did it.

Rock solid at 90 MPH on 35" tires. I wouldn't dare try that in a TJ.

Don't expect anything ground breaking out of Fiat's Italian engineering group.
Smaller tires, less flex and squeaky interiors are all I foresee.

Ford made Jeeps. They never owned Jeep. Fiat is the first off shore company to own Jeep.I'm not happy about it, they will be watered down in time, and I will never own another once my 08 is gone. I'll keep investing in my "61.

pretty sure the engineers of the JK during the DaimlerChrysler days were still from the USA, based in Detroit.

FWIW, keep in mind design of a vehicle happens about 10 years behind market release.
