Too early where I live. It was 10 feels like -11 this morning when I left the house. It's all personal preference though, if you are good at either 52 or 60+ then more power to you.

Bundle up like you’re going snowmobiling and you’ll be golden. Although…40’s certainly is warm! Tee shirt and shorts weather for me.

Nearly 3 years with our JLU and the doors have never been off since it left the Toledo plant. Are we supposed to remove them? 🤔

When my wife left for work this morning it was 20°F. She probably would not have been very happy driving down the highway if the doors were off. ;)

I haven't seen him for a while but there was a guy in Indianapolis (not Miami, Phoenix, Dallas, etc.) who drive 365 days a year no top etc. I passed him one day on the Interstate when it was about 15 degrees running 70 MPH bundled up like he was on a snowmobile. So whenever you want to have the doors off, take the doors off.

For me getting into this time of the year it’s more about rain where we live. Too many gadgets exposed to get damaged. When I was younger I had a YJ would take the top and doors off, put on a bikini top, a set of vinyl half doors and was good to go, didn’t have all these fancy electronics to worry about. The bikini top and half doors kept the dash mostly dry 90% of the time April through October.

I think I wrecked my stock head unit due to weather exposure. Replaced it with a bottom of the line pioneer. This time of year I would just pull the doors off, but leave the top on for some protection. In May I will probably take the top completely off.

I pull the carpet and drain plugs when I pull the doors.

I use about 70* as a guideline. Lower if trail riding and higher if interstate driving.

Doors haven't been on in about 20 years. We generally draw the line around 32F.

I was running naked for a couple weeks We took a drop in temps to the 40's when I leave for work last week, so everything is back on until the temps come up to the 60's @ 5:30 in the morning. Then I will run naked until the weather turns cold again. I may put the top up for raining but wear a raincoat and use towels when needed.

I cant even imagine having to deal with that. When my YJ still had the center console rain would fill my cup holders to the top and it was never a problem. And the dash had a gutter system to divert water away from the stereo and HVAC controls in the rain.

Get a Suntop Bikini and tanoe/windbreaker, then some Bestop soft vinyl doors, and some pipe doors, you can run comfortably in 10 degree weather, and swap the vinyl doors for pipe doors, I actually pack my vinyl doors in the back and then I am ready for bad weather or sunshine anytime and anywhere,

I generally leave mine off year round down here in SWFL. I will leave the soft top up and put the doors back on during the rainy season, but the windows stay off. Parts of my head unit stopped working after a couple of years of exposure. It occasionally crashes and it will no longer try to pair with any phone. Other than typical rust from the salt air, everything else seems to be holding up fine. 6 years for a 2017 JKU soft top, no garage.

When you take them off, drive around, freeze your butt off, and come home and say "I'm never doing that again," it's too early. Everybody has a different tolerance/preference for temp and wind. Go find out where yours are. Worst case, you'll have a good Jeep story to tell next time someone asks you this question.

I thought every Jeep owner kept a raincoat and set of towels stowed with the recovery gear. I also keep a small squeegee. Helps to clear the rain that accumulates on the inside of the windshield. Nothing worse than driving at night, in the rain, and can't see through the windshield. That's sketchy at least.
