On an '00 Wrangler, the heat-A/C selector has started having problems. It stops indexing betweend the different settings, and moves freely through the rotation of the switch. Currently the problem is intermittent, but I want to get it fixed before it gets cold.

Is there a fix, or am I stuck buying a new dash control unit?

thanks

if you lay on your back in the driver's side floor board and manage to get a hand on the switch, you can see the mechanism that switches the settings. Many jeepers have had the little plastic arm that moves break(myself included). fixing that little guy should help your problem. hope that made some sense.

Either what Khen says or you might just need a new knob. If you can pull the knob off take a look on the inside. There's a plastic ring that it basically uses to hold it together. They break after so much use. New set of knobs about 20 bucks from the dealer.
