Hi guys. I am ready to pick up my engine from the machine shop. Planning on dropping the engine in while the fenders, grill, etc are all off of the frame. Was planning on installing the wiring harness while all that was off and things were easy to but to. After looking at another YJ noticed a lot of the wires connect to stuff fastened to the fender and grill, so am rethinkig that.

While shopping for new clutch components, was wondering about the hydraulic clutch setup. At first I wasn't sure about a hydraulic clutch, I guess just because I am not familiar with them. But then got to thinking, hydraulic brakes are pretty bullet proof. But then talked to someone I was getting a part from, and he was converting his to a yoke style clutch.

Just wanting to get ideas, is the hydraulic clutch setup pretty reliable. (Above all, I want to avoid having to pull the thing apart to work on the clutch.)

just my opinion..hydraulic makes for a very light foot pedal..mechanical is more reliable..read other posts and form your own opinion

I know I have to make up my own mind. Just not having previous experience with a hydraulic clutch, was trying to get opinions on whether they are fairly reliable or not. (Hoping the experience of the group can prevent me having to make more mistakes myself.)

I busted up my peugeot trans in my '87 and got the Advanced Adapters NV3550 conversion which came with a Hydro Clutch setup. MUCH easier on the clutch foot especially in traffic. Haven't had any problems but I don't have that many miles on the new clutch. I like the hydro so far. Just my opinion...
