Morning all, I have removed my front axles and both driveshafts in order to install new u-joints all around but I failed to notice something after taking everything apart. On the rear driveshaft, which end goes to the diff and which one goes to the slip yoke?

Here are the numbers from each end if that will help.
One end has "Spicer Q 215 1".
The other has "Spicer Q 215 2".

This is on a stock YJ with the 2.5L 4 banger. Thanks! :thumb:

I'm no drive line specialist but the drive shaft is uniform front to rear and balanced so I don't think it would matter. When I replaced my u joints I put the drive shaft back in the way it came out but both u joints were the same. Not sure why yours are different

I was thinking the same thing, that they are the same, but with different numbers on each end I wanted to verify. Thanks for the reply.

I was informed that the back u joint is supposed to be bigger than the front so u might check to see if one fits in the rear yoke dif

The part numbers for the u-joints on both driveshaft's are the same, the numbers I mentioned are on the yokes of the rear driveshaft. Confusing huh?
