I've been looking for new tires for my '09 Wrangler Unlimited. I like the Fierce Attitude, the Hankook Dynapro ATM and the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. I want something quite a bit more rugged than regular street tires. Anyone have any experience with these or recommend one or another kind? Thanks!!!!!

+1 for Duratracs, I've wheeled them pretty hard and I haven't had to air down yet and haven't had any problems. Very rugged, and they're pretty quiet on the road.

From the list you have I would go with Duratracs as DD. If you wheel I would get something with a stronger sidewall like a trail grappler.

+3 Duratrac. Don't bother with Load Range E if you don't need too. Meaning if you have the choice get LR-C or D.
I have had 3 sets. Love em all. On an HD Truck, 1500 and my JK. I just switched to BFG KM2 We'll see.

I'm in the same boat as you and local to CT does anyone have any connects in CT that have the best deals? The quotes I've gotten range from 963-983 for 33s(4) mounted balanced and 4 wheel alignment. Sorry to hijack.

IDK what size you're looking at but take a look at the General Grabber AT2. American made and priced right. They are pretty quiet on my DD and have done well in the (very) light wheeling I've done so far.

I am looking for the rugged look but not expecting to take it off road very much (unfortunately). My dream is to get the Toyo Open Country M/T 29570R17 but can't find them and they're a bit pricey.

The grabbers are probably going to perform better on road than the duratracs. But the sidewall of duratracs is not something I worry about. It's pretty beefy.

I bought mine from Tire Rack. Picked them up in Windsor. I went to a few local places, and then Modern Tire, the Goodyear shop, and Town Fair Tire and no one could come close to the price that Tire Rack sold them for. It was about $170 per tire.

Then just went to a shop to have them mounted.

I just put these on yesterday.

Cooper Discoverer AT3 255 75R 17
I had little steel 16" with 225 75R 16 street tires.
They are a P series tire so the ride is nice but come with 14/32 tread depth.

I bought the Goodyear Duratracs. 26570R17. Had them installed on Friday. Love them. Needed big tires. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Hope you like your Coopers though.
