I am replacing my idler pulleys and serpentine belt and the pulley I pull off has nothing on it but the new one has two metal washers. Do I use those? How do they go?

Are you asking if I have ac? I do.

Those are idler pulley dust shields.
they go on each side of the pulley.

They are duralast from autozone

So I dont know if those dust shields are needed with the OEM pulleys but they might be on the Duralast because the back one holds the bolt.

I just picked-up a stethoscope at Harbor freight. Found out that the tensioner pully is going bad. I was worried it was the timing chain. Mechanic's Stethoscope (harborfreight.com) On my 2010, AC and no AC are different pulleys.(the way the belt is routed)

What amazed me about the stethoscope is that I could not only hear the pulley, but feel it as well. When I first stuck the end in there, I accidentally touched a moving part and it scared me. It sounded like 1000 demons were attacking me.
