I want to install a 1000 or 1500 Watt inverter in my TJ. I've done a bit of searching and found plenty of writeups, but they're all for smaller units. (The biggest I've seen was 750 Watts)

Has anyone installed one? Since a bigger capacity inverter is generally physically bigger, I don't think one would fit under the steering column or behind the glove box where other people mounted their smaller ones. I'm also concerned about water, as occasionally the top is down when it rains, so I don't want it exposed.

The other thing I was thinking was to somehow waterproof it, mount it under the seat and make like a snorkel for the fan so that it doesn't suck in water.

Any thoughts?
