Airaid - Intake Systems

what is your normal driving like?

i saw this product on Gearz on the weekend...Stacey talked highly of it, but i was looking for some real world opinions...

There are many threads with all the pros and cons. I doubt you'll notice any true gain other than what you "believe" it did for you. However, be very careful if you go through ANY water with an open intake.

I have the Airaid on my 2008 jk. You do hear alot of crowl when you punch it. I also have the UniChip on my rig. And it does seem quicker off the line. I didnt see any changer in mpg....If i know now what i knew then.....save your money and spend it on something more practical.....

I have the airraid intake and throttle boady spacer, I noticed alot more throttle response, a cool wissile sound when I switch gears, and also seems to keep the engine a bit cooler. But if your looking for the most bang for your buck, a super chip is the way to go cuz it cost just as much but dose alot more

It has settings for fule milage, or performance, can adjust shift points for auotomatics, can adjust for tire sizes, has a crawler mode for when you go off rd. As far as the sight look up super chips on a web search or check out quadratech and I think they might have a link

Run a search on this forum for "superchip" and then one for "flashpaq." You'll get a lot of overlap, but that'll cover just about everything that's been said on this thoroughly discussed topic.

They generally get good reviews, particularly for those with automatic transmissions. My understanding is that the chip will adjust the timing of the shifts in an auto trans to generate a "sportier" feel and give you some more power. (I have a manual trans and don't have this chip, though, so I actually don't have first hand experience.)

You can buy them from any of the major aftermarket websites. Jeep Parts, Jeep Accessories & Jeep Soft Tops From The Jeep Parts Experts - Quadratec, Jeep Parts, Jeep Accessories, and Jeep Soft Tops from The Jeep Parts Specialists Morris 4x4 Center, Jeep Parts, Jeep Accessories, & Jeep Tops, etc.

Anybody happen to catch Extreme 4x4 over the weekend? They're building a JK for trail duties and actually put an open element CAI on their Jeep. I wanted to reach through the TV and slap the pee out of that host dude.
And bring the cute blond chick back.
