When I use my android Samsung galaxy note 5 if I use the gps to get somewhere I can hear the turn by turn directions through the radio

But when I use my iPhone 6 for gps I cannot hear turn by turn directions through the radio

Is there a way to hear turn by turn through the radio?

Don't use the built-in map/directions on the iphone, it is notoriously unreliable and flakey.

Try Google Maps:

Or, even better, Waze

Also, make sure you're in "Bluetooth Streaming Audio" mode

My directions come through fine from my iPhone. The catch is you need to use that for your audio input. If I am streaming music off my iPhone the directions also come through the speakers. If I'm using a different audio source (SAT/AM-FM/USB) the directions just come out the iPhone speaker.

Are you saying that you can use your android for directions while using another audio source and it still interrupts the music to give audible directions?
It was when Apple Maps first launched but it's absolutely fine now. Regardless, I use Waze because of the police/hazard alert system...but Apple Maps is perfectly reliable now.

I don't have to use my iPhone as my audio source to hear the directions over the Jeep speakers; however, my 730N system recognizes the directions as a phone call, so I get the "Phone call completed" line after every direction...which is annoying as hell.

I'm usually listening to Spotify on my drives where I need directions anyway so it's been awhile since I've done this but I believe if you simply connect your phone via bluetooth and the music will play through the Jeep speakers, then switch to radio/sat/whatever, directions will still come through the Jeep speakers via your phone. I know this has worked for me before but it's been awhile since I tried it and I may have added another step that I'm not remembering. I'll test it this weekend.

Weird. I use my Android with Bluetooth Streaming Audio mode. Playing Pandora when I have good data signal, music library when I'm in the boonies, and when I've got Waze up for GPS/Directions, it lowers the music way down so I can hear the nav directions over the Jeep speakers. Single source device (LG G3) all done over BT connection.

Step-by-step:
Turn on the Jeep
Turn BT on on my phone
Wait for pairing to complete
Hit the V/R menu button
say "Bluetooth Streaming Audio"
Radio speakers make "success" noise
Open Pandora or Music Library, start playing music (music over radio speakers, no noise coming from the phone speaker/s)
Open Waze, input destination, hit "Go!"
Music turns down for Waze voice to say "Okay, let's go!" and first direction, then music turns back up to same volume it was before.

Does that hopefully clear it up some?

If I'm listening to the radio and the iPhone says turn left here I don't here it through the stereo but on my phone and it is connected via Bluetooth because when someone calls that works over the stereo

But when I have my android and listening to the radio I can hear the turn by turn directions through the radio
