Is the 35x12.50x17 Toyo AT2 a true 35?

I searched and searched and couldn't find a conclusive answer, but I'm trying to figure out if the 35x12.50x17 Toyo AT2 is a TRUE 35" tire. I am not talking about manufacturer specs or what treaddepot.com says they measure, but actual real life on the Jeep kind of measurements. I have 315/70/17 Duratracs on my JKUR with a 3.5" AEV lift, and although it works great I'm looking to go with a larger tire without the jump to a 37".

I've definitely considered the BFG AT KO2 37" since it measures closer to 35.5", but that would be a pretty big jump from my Duratracs which I may not be ready for yet in terms of the other upgrades (ball joints, sleeve/gusset, gears, etc.). What I really want and wish wasn't so hard is a true 35" tire - Duratracs and BFGs run small, but I know Toyo and Nitto run closer to advertised height. I need an all terrain tire for mixed driving conditions here in Colorado, so I'm not really looking outside the tires listed. I know the Toyo weighs about 10 pounds more (also an XT tire that's E rated) than the Duratrac I have now which is certainly material, but I think with my 4.10 gears I should still be ok. The Jeep drives very well with the Duratracs, so I doubt the extra weight will be unbearable.

Anyone running the 35x12.50x17 Toyo AT2 and measured the real world height?

Too many variables. Tire measurements are unmounted. The weight of the vehicle and width of the wheel it's mounted to all play a factor.

I run AT2 in 35's mounted on 17x8.5" AEV rims I run26-28psl on the road and they ride very smooth and quiet. If you are parked on a flat surface and put a level on the top of the tire and measure to the ground they are slightly over 33.5". I also run KO2 34x10.5-17 on stock rims so quiet a difference in weight and I really do not notice the weight difference on my 14 jkur with 4.10 and auto. The Toyo R/T and M/T in 35x12.5-17's are a bit taller than the AT2's are, not much but a little. I really like the AT2's.

I don't disagree there are many factors to consider, but there is no denying an alleged 35" KO2 is nowhere near 35" just like the 34" KO2 is far smaller than 34". A Nitto Trail Grappler for example is far closer to true size than a BFG KO2, and that's objective. There are enough similar Jeeps out there with similar setups to proxy what one can expect size wise however.

I should also add that I know the the AT2's are slightly bigger than BFG km2's in 35's and bigger than mastercraft MTX's as I have good buddies that had those so I have a direct comparison. My buddy with the MTX's traded his MTX's on AT2's as soon as we got back from Moab last year. He bought the MTX's right before we went to Moab and after driving my jeep with the AT2's traded as soon as we got back. I have a buddy with Nitto Trail grapplers in 35's and his are visually bigger than the Toyos. They are heavy tires as he needed me to help him when he rotated them. I can lift my rear spare up to its mount with no problem.

I want KO2's in 37's tho as I think they are about perfect size. Either those or Intercos which are a true 35" tire. Not sure they would be the the best Daily Driver but I have the 34" KO2 to swap back and forth with.

I've considered a second set as well for trail duty and keep the Duratracs for daily driving. The only issue is storage space as we live in a condo building and I already have 3 motorcycles, the Jeep, the Yukon (separate summer and winter wheelset too), a Honda and lots of other stuff. My neighbors' patience may run out with another huge set of wheels in the garage

I've only known a couple of "MT" tires that are as closed as their advertised size
BFG's run smaller in everything they do, although when you step to 37's they're closer in that size, i don't understand why they're 1" or more smaller in smaller sizes.
If you want a real 35" tire, Goodyear MTR's, Toyo MT's or Nitto MT's are as close, as their advertised size you're going to get. the GY are 34.4" mounted.
I'm too looking to upgrade tires to 35' but i don't need real 35's, so an upgrade to BFG 315/70/17 will suffice for now
