Hello all,

I have a 98 wrangler 2.5L 4 cylinder. When I shift into drive on the shifter the car does not go into drive. I have to slam the shifter back to drive for the car to shift into drive. It happens when I go from park to drive, reverse to drive and neutral to drive. No problems shifting into reverse from p, n, or d. And there is no issue getting out of drive. Just getting into. New trans 1 year ago this month. Any input is appreciated!

Thanks a lot,
Brent

Don't know if this is any help but have you looked at the linkage for something loose or out of adjustment? Fluid at correct level? I don't have an automatic so I don't have anything to reference. You probably have already checked but this all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope you get it figured out.

Brought it to the trans shop(I don't trust myself working on the trans).... With the shifting to drive issue and it starting leaking tons of fluid.. 3 cups of trans fluid over night.
