PM sent, my local dealer once failed my inspection for my third brake light out and didn't check the fuse box so I don't have a lot of confidence just blindly sending it to them without clear directions of what to look for and what the fix is...Hi @sheepythejku,
We're sorry to hear that you are experiencing this concern as well. Have you visited your Jeep dealer for a diagnosis? Please send us a message if you are in need of additional assistance.

Welcome to the Forum.I guess another 2016 can be added. I just joined while researching the "dies in reverse" issue. Bought my wife a '16 sport a week ago from a Nissan dealership and this has happened twice. It has 24,000 miles and the warranty is up the end of April.
I keep finding this issue online with multiple years and multiple causes. Not very reassuring. I have to contact the dealership Monday. I'm just now finding about "jeep cares". I'll have to get with them as well. I'll report back once I know more. Thanks!
Welcome to the Forum.2017 unlimited sport with 18,000 miles, same problem. Always has a 3 or 4 second delay in drive before it engages on first drive of the day. I usually back into my parking spot, but out of the handful of times i haven’t, it has stalled out twice. It’s at the dealership now. When i called to make appointment i told them exactly what was happening. I dropped it off Sunday night so it would be cold and they could see for themselves. I left detailed note on the envelope and even mentioned others with same problem and torque converter seemed to be the problem. They called me back today and said they drove it several times today and had no problems with the transmission.... and asked if i wanted them to keep it another day. After explaining the problem again a 3rd time he said he would tell the tech what i said. So i mentioned the torque converter problem as others have had and he said no, those usually throw codes real quick.... looks like a long fight to get this fixed.....
We got our jeep back from the dealer. They replaced the torque converter and it solved the problem. We also are now getting better mileage. We went from 14 to 17 mgp. INSIST on them focusing on the TC.2017 unlimited sport with 18,000 miles, same problem. Always has a 3 or 4 second delay in drive before it engages on first drive of the day. My biggest problem with this is going to be that my jeep doesn't do this every time and therefore a dealership is going to very easily pretend the issue doesn't exist. It has stalled completely only 3 times maybe? So the likely hood I will reproduce that is extremely low. Pretty much every time on the first time putting in reverse the RPM's drop really low and if feels like it might stall....Everyone needs to get a video of this stalling and show it to your dealer and have them focus on the torque converter and transmission.

Just a hard thing to get someone to agree that something is wrong that isn't driving your car every day.... My appointment is Wednesday, we will see[/QUOTE
That was my problem. They had the Jeep for 3 days and it never stalled for them so they said everything was working as it should and there wasn’t anything they could do. I asked if i took a video of it happening would that be good enough to get something done. They said unfortunately no, they have to have it in the shop when it does it. I contacted JeepCares and their response was that they are not trained mechanics so if the dealership says there is nothing wrong, then there is nothing they can do. Good luck
Ours did the same thing. It did not stall everytime. Be persistent, get a video of it and show them. Jeep knows there is a problem. Insist that the focus on the TC. We brought ours to the dealer 4 times. They finally gave in. You will get it fixed. The dealer we worked with was Tasca Jeep in Johnston Rhode Island. My biggest problem with this is going to be that my jeep doesn't do this every time and therefore a dealership is going to very easily pretend the issue doesn't exist.
