I just purchased a 2005 Wrangler Rubicon, tire size 16in, 245/75, I want to upgrade to a 17 in rim, with 255/75. Is this possible, what are risks?

hmmmm....Why do you feel a 17" rim is a upgrade? The main risk are more $$$ for tires. I have 17" rims on my full size truck and hate having to buy tires for it.

17"= more expensive per tire and being called a mall crawler.

The main reason for the switch was having a setup of 17in style from a relatives Vehicle, he will give me for cheap. If you dont recommend this, what tire would you recommend for a NYC daily driver with occasional ski trips upstate?

Many of us are Goodyear Duratrac fans for Daily Driving and they have the snowflake rating. :thumb:

Not sure who this bozo is, but the Duratracs do well in the snow:
