So I just bought a 2000 Jeep TJ. and I owned a 2000 Jeep TJ before I bought this one, which I flipped. And this Jeep has a different check engine light than my last one, this one says "check engine". While my other one just had a picture of the engine symbol. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what date this is from and if it has been replaced, thank you.

Just pull cluster and hopefully it has a part number on it

Beware cluster swaps can change odometer reading so sometimes sealed for fraudulent reasons

With part number you can tell if from a XJ or TJ and year

Post a pick of speedo so we can see haw many mile divisions between the number marks

Could be "early" production or "late" production in the model year.......or a swap.
Heep a long was built in 9-99 and is a 2000 with the "check engine" light in written form.....on the right side of the cluster to the left of the oil pressure gauge.
As long as things are working as designed I wouldn't sweat it too much.

All 97-2001 (last year of production) XJ and all 1997-2000 TJ send info to gauges wish a twisted pair CCD bus

All 2001 and newer TJ send info to gauges via a single wire PCI bus

So a 2000 could not use any 2001 or newer cluster
Except for a 2001 XJ cluster
