I just took my new 1994 Jeep YJ offroad today and it was a beast compared to anything I've ever driven offroad before, even my friends stock 97 TJ and 98 cherokee. I I've offroaded both of those and still never had as much fun in them as this Jeep. It also a lot of fun to drive on the road, I get tons of looks with the doors and top off馃憤馃憤馃槀. Let me know about you guys's favorite things about your YJ's馃

Pretty cool. I would love to be able to torture mine like that just to see what it could do.

Why not, yours seems more capable than mine, you just gotta be smart about what you do馃憤馃憤

Jeep YJ best vehicle on the planet?
That's what I've been saying.
AMC with the help of Chuck Mashigan really made automotive perfection with these machines. As much as I hate to admit it, Chrysler did a pretty good job redesigning and adding parts to them though.

I just love the feeling of driving it, and if you ever back into a sign or slightly tap a tree with your bumper or other stuff, it doesnt hurt the jeep like at all, basically indestructible, except for having to put a quart of oil in the jeep to keep it alive every 1000 miles馃槀馃槀

Yeah, I love how YJ's handle on road. I can't stand the floatey feel of the TJ with its coil springs. And not worrying about little damage is very liberating. It's nice to have a vehicle that I don't feel guilty when welding, grinding, cutting, or painting on. And the fastener selection in stores is huge when modifying to making repairs. So I'm not stuck ordering a handful of metric bolts and waiting a week like I am on my other vehicles.

I just love the sound, the smoothness and the durability of the 4.0 Motor.
I love the nimble "mountain-goat" abilities when driving offroad.
And - of course - I never ever will get enough from the tan Interieur and dashboard.

That's one of the requirements that I had when I was looking for a YJ. It had to have the tan interior because I felt like the gray interior was too bland and boring for a second vehicle馃憤馃憤

91-95 YJ's were the most reliable jeeps ever made.

The 4.0 was new enough to be HO version with reliable sensors (and piston skirts) and had the best head casting #7120

It got the AX15, the most reliable transmission since the T18

The Transfer case is not the best ever but decent. I wish they could have used a gear driven case but oh well.

Axles... well at least the front is high pinion.
