My '07 6 speed has done this from day one with me, which was 113k for it. I really want to know what it is. When I go to let the clutch out to go in to first gear, I get this vibrating, jiggling noise. It won't do it if I bring the RPMs up before letting out the clutch, and when i let off the gas in first or second, I get a similar noise that sounds like some connection is jiggling back and forth. Any ideas?

The noise when I start kind of sounds like a diesel engine at low acceleration. it's only for a second, then goes away. The noise/feeling I get when I let off the gas is clunky, the jeep lags back like it normally would.

Yup, normal. Bring your rpms up some when starting out in first gear, will alleviate the issue.

Ah, that's a relief to hear. The only other manual transmissions I've owned or driven have all been little 4 cylinder cars, so I'm sure there are huge differences. Thanks to you all for putting my mind at ease.
