Thinking about swapping engines in my 4dr jk.

Looking for feedback. Was told to install a supercharger in my 3.8 for $8000.00, seems steep to me.

Im sure you can get a supercharger for around 6k and maybe the 2k was for install? AEV and RIP have them for less than 8k

I've heard that superchargers underperform. They provide most of the benefits high in the RPM range.

With that said, I would go with an LS engine swap. The 6.2 Vortec or LS2, probably the Vortec as it was designed for heavy trucks.

Welcome to the Forum!

You don't have to take anyone's word about SCs. Compare the power curve vs stock and you decide how much usable power and torque it will generate for you and don't forget the noise if that matters.

Swapping an engine successfully is not a simple job. I would go with the engine that is easiest to swap and integrate. I really like the GM small block LS2 but for many reasons IMO a Hemi would be easier.
