I'm thinking about upgrading from my stock exhaust to an aftermarket one. I don't want anything that sounds like a honda civic, but something deep and manly. Any personal experience is welcome. Thanks.

If you're just looking to change up the sound, you can do an Axle Back System. There are quite a few options out there. I personally like the look of the Magnaflow Kits with the dual tips. They are also dyno tested to add some performance enhancements as well. The Magnaflow Rockcrawler will tuck the exhaust up out of the way a little more to keep it off the rocks when wheeling, if that's something that's important to you.

A lot of companies will have sound clips on their websites to give you an idea of what that muffler will sound like on your rig. Some also offer a return policy so if you don't like the way it sounds you can send it back for a different one.

Don't forget that we offer a 6% forum discount and completely free shipping on all orders over $75 regardless of physical size or weight, no surcharges! Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can help you in any way!

I like the ones that move the muffler further forward and remove the muffler from the rear of the Jeep. When I was looking I looked at the Dynomax and MBRP rockcrawler versions and ended up with the MBRP. I have had it on for over 20k miles now and I really like the sound and the fact that it is tucked up high enough to avoid getting hung up on rocks when wheeling.

I had the dynomax dual exhaust one that mounts in same spot as stock one, cheap around $200 but did not like the drone it had around 60 to 70 mph that would actually hurt your ears, had to turn tunes up to spare the ears! sold them to someone who didn't care

Dynomax rock crawler exhaust, I bought it when it first came out and got a $50 rebate I think I paid under $100 for the whole system which really isnt much when you look at it. Sounds good once the Jeep is warmed up, cold it sounds a little raspy overall I'm happy with it.

I'm in the same boat. The stock exhaust is nice but I want more. I don't want it to sound like a truck but I don't want it cheap either. I've been looking around for about a month now and seems to be lots of options. Personally YouTube videos aren't enough for me. Any feed back would be great. I really like dual exhaust, think it looks sweet especially on my new 14 rubi

MBRP and Dynomax rock crawler if you do any offroading. I've never heard a MBRP system except on my buddies powerstroke never on a Jeep so I'm not aware of how it sounds. I've seen dual exhaust setups get crunched on rocks and sandwich the tips once the jeep drops off a ledge. Heres a pic of mine tucked up nicely.

I just pulled my stock muffler off, im going to fab up a single nice tip which will change the sound a little but not a lot but so far im happy with it its nice and deep mostly overall doesnt sound like a 6cyl but doesnt sound like a v8 either of course but for 20 min unbolting a clamp and sliding the rubber holders off im happy with it, right now it was free after a tip and some pipe I may have 50 bucks in it, doesn't sound worse then aftermarket kits and doesnt sound bad at all you guys can try it for free if you dont like it pop the stock muffler back on

I really wish I was more of a hands on guy. Havent had much time for doing it. I'm sure it's simple, if anyone else can share there after market exhausts would be great. For the amount of off roading I will do I don't mind the exhaust out the back. I love the look of a dual exhaust. I'm willing to pay for a beauty smooth sound.

Here's the dynamic dual exhaust stated above. Think it was $159 I don't hear the drone stated above, kinda like the way it sounds too be honesT. Sounds great in cold weather and to be honest, I wish it was louder. It's pretty close to the sound of just the exhaust being off completely. Looks good, Sounds decent, an cheap so it's a win win win if you ask me.

Dynomax Evolution Competition Exhaust (part #39522). It's tucked up between the axles, dumps out under your jeep instead of sticking out the back, and it sounds great!

It's called the "Dynomax 39522 Ultra Flo Polished Stainless Steel Cat-Back System" on Amazon:

How much louder than stock does it get with that exhaust system?

It's certainly noticeable when accelerating, but not once you hit cruising speeds. Even while accelerating, I feel that it sounds more like a bigger truck than a ricer.

Did you watch the video?

I bought the Magnaflow rock crawler system (P/N 17143) a month or so ago for my 2013 JK. This system is much deeper sounding and louder than what I thought it would be after having watched a few youtube videos. When driving around town I love the way it sounds - Deep and ballsy, but when on the hwy going up and down the CO foothills the drone is so loud that I am considering removing the system and going back to stock. If it weren't for the wonderful sound when driving around town I would have already switched back.

Do you know the P/N for the Dynomax Rock Crawler?
I do not see it on their site.

I am looking at the Magnaflow 17143. I like the sound and performance gains of this unit. The one thing I would like to know is if anyone has driven it around with the top and/or the doors off. I wonder how much you get fumigated at a stop light with the exhaust exit so far forward. If anyone can answer that for me I would appreciate it.
