I've been hunting for a cheaper way to get a decent lift. And I stumbled upon stuffing JK springs under a tj. Since i Work at a jeep dealership I figured I'd wait for a salesman with too much money wanted to lift his brand new 4door rubi so ta-da I scored the old springs off his. I know there is a little work to be done in order to get the rear springs to fit. I already have a 2 inch hockey puck set on mine right now. What I would like to be able to do is put the jk springs on the jeep with the hockey pucks in hopes to get a total 4.5 inches. But what I am not sure about is how the factory control arms would hold up.
I plan on buying shocks. But the question is how will the factory Trac bar and arms hold up already have the sye kit not worried about causing vibrations that's a simple fix. Not going to be bouncing this thing off trees any time soon just playing the poser pavement princess card hahaha

Recommendations? Ideas?

I think the JK springs are shorter then TJ springs. At one time guys were swapping TJ springs into the jk's. I only have done 1 TJ lift but the freaking coils were long suckers.

Everything I've read has been that the jk springs are longer. The ones I have are out of a 13 Sahara I don't know how those line up to other springs

I have jk springs on my tj and they were much larger than my old tj springs i had to get a 2" spacer for the front springs though to level it out

They were free. Long arm kit down the road just want the appearance for now. What are the reasons not to?

I put JK 4 door springs under my 98 TJ and it lifted it about 2 inches and looked great and rode much better. i am going to do it to my 2001 soon.

You can use the stock JK shocks. The fronts you have to use the bar pin from the TJ shocks, and the rears will bolt in after some slight grinding to narrow the bushing for the lower rear mount. The front springs will fit right in no problem. You want to look for the last two numbers on the tag, the higher the more rate, and you will get some more lift. Fronts you want as close to 20 as you can get. The rears will need to be opened up to fit over the bump stop cup, the rears seen to give somewhere around 2" no matter the rate. 59's would be the stiffest, they say there are 60's out there but I haven't seen them. All in All, I have done this just to see. On the fronts you will need spacers to level it out, about 1" for a 2.5l, and 2" for a 4.0l. You would be better off in the front to find a set of ZJ V8 springs. That should get you level without spacers.

Roger. I've already got spacers on it was hoping to double up. Sounds like I need some zj springs if I want to keep my 2" spacers and stay level.

If you plan on running the JK rears, ZJ fronts with 2" spacers, the stock JK shocks will not work. That would be around 4" of lift.

I want 4 inches for cheap jku springs in the rear with my coil spacer will get the rear but for the front to work I need an springs then my spacer? Sounds like a Frankenstein jeep lol
