Hello took my 08 jku out first time climbing and playin in the mud .I Had not even got out of the field put it in 4 high and it would not shift out of 4 high everyone said the linkage bushings broke got new bushings but I can not get the transfer case shift nob off I have pulled on it like crazy it will not budge any advise would be great

Does the lever move but it doesn't shift? Or does the lever not move?
This ^^

If the lever is moving easily, it could be the linkage that you can reach from underneath the keep. I had the little plastic piece that connects the shift linkage to the transfer case break

I usually use a ratchet strap around the knob and the sound bar. Tighten up the strap and then start cranking on the ratchet. The knob will come off.

Thanks everyone it was the bushings they were gone no trace of them bought 2 new bushings for 9$ a piece put on both ends of linkage works great thanks again
