I just purchased a 2015 Unlimited 4 door Rubicon. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what hitch is better between the Quadratec and two Rugged Ridge packages or if there another one I should go with:

1) Quadratec Premium 2" Receiver Hitch with Wiring Kit & Jeep® Logo Plug for 07-15 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec
2) Rugged Ridge 11580.51 - Rugged Ridge Receiver Hitch with Wiring Harness for 07-15 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec or Rugged Ridge 11580.60 - Rugged Ridge 2" Hitch with Wiring Harness & Plug for 07-15 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Also someone mentioned to me these might not work for Rubicon's because they require a special hitch. Is that the case?

I don't think it will make any difference which brand you get. Some do not have the nuts welded to the hitch which makes mounting a bit more difficult. I ordered the combo you're looking at (hitch and 4-pin harness). However, I later bought a 7-pin harness so I can tow a travel trailer. So the 4-pin harness was a waste of money. You can actually have both harnesses installed at the same time but it would be cheaper to get a 7-pin to 4-pin adapter.

The Quadratec VersaHitch looks interesting but I don't think I'd really use it.

Mine came with a hitch
It's cheaper to buy a Rubicon without a hitch. The towing package includes the lower gearing, which the Rubicon already has. So you can save a few hundred dollars by installing your own for $80 instead of the $350 (if I remember correctly) that the dealer charges. Maybe Chrysler has fixed this for 2015/16.

Yes the tow package is expensive compared to doing it yourself. Most Wranglers on the lot don't come with it because dealers know this.

Which one of the ones I linked to did you purchase? What does the 7 pin connector get you?

They work fine with the standard Rubicon, there's a different hitch for the Rubicon 10a/X/HR that doesn't come with hardware. Install is a breeze with any of them but easier with the hitch that has the nuts welded to the bracket.
