Ok, I have looked around the web and the forum and have not really found anything I like, so I figured I'd ask here. Does anyone have a fishing pole holder for the inside of the JKU? I keep my poles in my jeep at all times and would love to have them up out of the way.

Thanks for any input.

I've seen a guy take the adjustable flashlight mounts and put them along the side of his roll bar. Don't know of any "kits" for this. your gonna have to get pretty custom with it

I zip tie mine to the back of the rollbar. Home depot sells the longer ties in the heating/cooling area. They don't rattle. (assumes a 2 pc pole)

I have plans to use a piece of white thin wall PVC tubing and hang in from the roll bar in the middle, front to back.
Plan to cut a slot for the reel to hang out of the tube and use the pipe caps on the ends.
Well, thats the plan so far...I don't know how well it's going to work, but thats the idea.
Hang the tube in place with Velcro tape found at Home Depot....
Hopefully I won't beat my head against it as I drive down rough roads or trails...

Let me know how that works out. Sounds like a good idea.

There are two St. Croix rods in my Jeep at all times. The JKU will hold up to a 7'6" 1 pc rod. All you need are two 12" bungee balls per rod. Wrap one around the roll bar in the back of the vehicle, around the rod and hook it around the ball. Thread the other between the front sound bar and the roof, wrap around the rod (avoiding eyes), and hook the ball.

On road, off road, it doesn't get in the way, there always there, no drilling, no muss no fuss. I also like the little bit of spring for the rods. If you mount two rods, just outside of the center lights, they won't hit you in the head, and won't interfere with the sunvisors.

They work fine for my 2 pc. surf rods too, as well as inshore bass stuff. The most I've hung so far is 6, and it makes it a bit trickier with that many and people in the back seat.

When I'm on really rough ground, the tips will flex a bit. At that point, my teeth are chattering, and the change is falling out of the little slot under the e-brake handle. Everything is shaking to hell. I broke a lantern globe in it's case last week on the way back to my favorite low tide spot from the jarring. Otherwise, you don't even know they're there.

Awesome! So where do you get bungee ball straps? Never seen those. Maybe I just never noticed them before. I think I will try to find some tomorrow.
Thanks again for the great idea.

You can get bungee ball straps like that at any Home Depot. Look for a bungee bundle package. I use them as bangers on my scuba tanks. Pull them back and release and it makes a nice "BWANG" that gets everyones attention nearby when you are diving.

Also check out Academy if you live in a region that has them. You can get a big pack of them for about $5-10. Really like the setup. Does anyone have pics of the PVC style running that way?

Buster, thats a cool idea, lots less room taken up than my 2"PVC tubing idea....
I'd thought about hanging the rods up there with Velcro (home depot) but then thought the tube idea would be neater....(Not)
Yours takes up a lot less room..... Thanks! "BH"
