I send that I put a Spiderwebshade on earlier this summer and has made a huge difference. I run mine with safaristraps extended also.

Can't go wrong with Spiderwebshade. Easy on/Easyoff and it provides great coverage. Not sure there is a better mesh top out there.

Second on the Spiderwebshade. I got one a month ago for my JKU and love it. Makes it so much more comfortable without the hardtop/softtop on. Also it's nice because you can put both tops back on the jeep without removing the shade..

Everyone is right, spiderwebshade. They are the bomb. Use JKF as the special code for free shipping I think. I got the heavy duty one, and after the trek armor seat covers it was my best and most used upgrade on my JK.

I don't understand why you want a convertible vehicle, take the top off and then put a mesh top to block the sun.
The mesh top does not fully block the sun...but it does block most of the UV rays.

There are about a 1/2 dozen reasons as to why people get mesh shades.

Because I live in Dallas and it will be 104 today. With the SWS I can still go without my hardtop and remain relatively cool. Without the SWS it would be way to hot. Come mid-late September the SWS will be put way until we are in the high 90's again.

I live in Baton Rouge, the heat and humidity is terrible. ***Edited....Don't bait***

*Some people burn easy (luckily I'm not one of them), so the UV protection is huge.
*Some "cargo" may not want to travel in direct sunlight during a middle of the day when the sun is strongest....like my 6 week old sun (or kids in general)....or my dog.
*With leather interior, the seating surface is no longer hot when the top is down as I come out of the office at work during the summer.
*Bird poop or tree sap is no longer an issue when parked topless.
*It can be installed and left up year around, under both the soft top hard top.

It is mesh, you can still see through it, and it can be removed in seconds.

Some people may want to ride to work with the top down, but not bake in the sun and get to the office sweaty. It allows me to run top-back on days when I might otherwise be tempted to put the top up and turn the AC on.

There is basically no downside...it isn't like it is permanent or some complex install that requires tools.

panthermark's list is spot on. I'll add that as one who drives to work and during the day for meetings, the spiderwebshade makes it so I don't need a baseball hat. It cuts down just a bit of the air without eliminating it. Having the shade keeps the interior so much cooler in the 100 degree temps here compared to being topless, and that should in turn keep my leather looking good longer.

Sorry, but we will still be in the mid 90's in September.
