you will have to use them if you want the engine/trans/case because yj diffs are on the ford side.....but its alot of work to put a chevy front under a jeep because of the spring pin width being way different
RIght on man I have an 87 TBI K-5 I recently bought thinking about the same thing. If I do it I am going to 8 lug Chevy and use the whole drive train. Mine has a 700r4 which is one of my favorite trannys. It is tough to decide if I really want to hack up a good running YJ and do it though. I am just getting use to my anemic 4 banger
