Light bar

Just purchased a 95 YJ. It has a windshield mount light bar with a led light bar attached. It looks like it is wired for 4 individual lights that were replaced with the led bar. I personally don't like the looks of the led bar, it looks too modern for the YJ.

My question to the YJ owners is do you think I should go with round or rectangular lights? I kinda like the idea of "owning" the rectangle.

Your Jeep, your money! Please yourself.
Just my opinion, I prefer to maintain a theme, so I'd go with 4 rectangular lamps. That said, I have rectangular headlights but round driving lights. I already had the round driving lights on the shelf when I got my Jeep so I used them instead of buying new rectangular driving lights.
The LEDs seem to work better than regular incandescent lights so you might see if you can buy 4 LED rectangular lights to replace the LED single light bar.

Good Luck, L.M.

Either! I just agree with you that an LED light bar would look extremely out of place on a YJ. I just don’t like solid light bars anyways

Thanks steves92, now that the secret is out, all the single Jeepers will be trashing their light bars in favor of rectangular driving and fog lights. I just invested in a cool light bar for angry bird grills.
It mounts vertically in the middle. We call it "The Beak".

I personally hate light bars. I guess they were fashionable in the 80's for some reason but they were never a good idea. They make an unareodynamic vehicle even more un-aerodynamic and gas is expensive. They are in the worst place imaginable to mount a light because they get hit on everything and cast glare on the hood. The best place for lights is on the front of the vehicle. I wouldent install a lightbar if someone paid me, horrible idea that belongs in the dustbin of history.

I like light bars to some degree, if they match the era of the vehicle. Since you have a YJ with rectangular lights, that's where I cast my vote, but I like the round old school KC lights for illumination off road etc, but I'm particular towards the amber rectangular "Fog" lights for either CJ or YJ, not sure how they would look on a TJ, or even newer.
LED bars, TJ or newer unless built into an aftermarket bumper or winch plate.
And...out of the 2 pics, the first with the rectangular lights looks good, the rounds look outta place on top, the 80's hot chick didn't sway me one bit:unsure::p

A chrome grill guard on a YJ is like an angry bird grill on a JK. No judgement here, just thinking out loud.

You learned my lesson for me. Mrs. Lucky uses an old iron frying pan. I'm still focused on the KC lights.

Those 80s headlights look pretty good.
I voted Damn the 80's were awesome, but I'd choose rectangle.

I remember some of the 80s, little of the 70s and even less of the 60s.
The 60s were the best. In 1960 I was sixteen and it was the beginning of the sexual and drug revolution. Then, everything had round headlights (I think).
