Load range 285/75 r16 or r17

There doesn't seem to be any options for C load range at this size and maybe a couple at D. Am I missing something or is that just the way it is. Was hoping to get something decently aggressive looking and duratracs at 285/70r17 load range D might be the only way to go. Is there a noticeable difference between D and E? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, you're adding about ten pounds per tire going from a D load to a E load.

I have the Duratracs you're looking at (the D-load LT285/70/17s), and am very happy with them. They look great, and handle surprisingly well in the snow.

Thanks. Also does anyone know if a 16 inch tire would ride smoother than a 17 inch tire because there is more rubber?
