Looking at this Jeep after work today. Price seems high to me, bluebook has it about 1500-2000 less. Anyone have some input on this other than that it's overpriced? How much is reasonable?

Anything weird to look for on it?

2001 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 Sport

Thanks!!

To many miles on the od.for me.I believe in paying a little more for less mileage.Keep shopping making notes.Look at a few and compare.I always looked at the frame condition.Poke at it for strength, look for replacement pieces.Finger it,lower holes check for rust piling up inside.Take your time, what's the rush.

i have had trouble finding many 6 cylinders with under 100k, this is probably the 2nd or 3rd lowest mileage one i've seen. Everyone says these engines are pretty tough so i would hope i could get close to 200k out of it without too much hassle. i'd like it with less miles but they seem hard to find like i said. hopefully i can assess the vehicle better and look at all the fixes that were done to it a year ago to determine just how good of shape it's in for 120k. Thanks for the input though!

Looks like the back seat is missing. Price is a tad high for a private seller. Since it needs a new top, it might be a negotiating point.

Do what you want it's your money.Your asking the forum if this is a deal? That tells me you haven't shopped enough? Took me a good month every day craigslist, cartrader, cars for sale, and ebay.Almost bought in Las veges and shipped to Massachusetts because of miles and condition plus mods.I bought my tj for trade in value with a lift 4'',wheels,tires,amps,sub,bumpers etc.and low miles.Dealers are giving crap for mods when they trade in.Go to jeep dealers and drive out back ya never know?PATIENTS!! :wavey:

this Sport has quite a few options on it, best is the 30" wheel and tire group which gives you the 15x8 Canyon wheels and the heavy duty suspension, you do not see a lot of Sports with that option. Also has the full console option which means it probably also has the high end sound system with subwoofer and 7 speakers.

but like was said you really owe it to yourself to look at a LOT of used wranglers before deciding whether you are getting a good deal, and you have to go look at them in person never trust an ad to be 100% accurate.

Everything is relative,... IMO to me sitting here in IN thinking that is from CA (?) and bone stock...would run car fax and if it has spent its life out there and checks out....fairly certain it will have the Dana 44.....would be a done deal...I might push for $500 off since top is worn and it will cost CLOSE to that to replace with same thing....but really if it is what you want I would go for it.

OBTW if the I6 4.0 is maintained it should last for 300K-500K miles.

Not the best price, but not an outrageous price either. With the age of the Jeep I wouldn't worry too much about the miles. I'd consider buying it if the maintenance checks out & they're willing to negotiate.

Yea it seemed to be in really good shape mechanically yesterday when i checked it out and drove it. By far the best feeling drive of any of the 10+ jeeps i've test driven lately.

I'm going to negotiate and i think offer around 8000 depending on the dana 44 and ABS situation. everything else looks to be pretty solid on this one. Hopefully i can get some wiggle room with the few things that need to be done to it and it'll be smooth sailing!

Thanks for all the help everyone!
