Hey guys my 91 YJ has a hole the size of a dime on my front frame rail on the bottom where the steering gearbox mounts to the rail that I want to get fixed before it gets any worse. I can't weld so I'm looking for advise on a shop that does good work in north eastern Ohio (around youngstown) If no one knows any are there any specific questions I should ask before taking it to any welder or weld shop? A friend at work says he can do it I just feel a bit better having it done by a shop that has performed this kind of repair before. Also what should this kind of job cost on average? Thanks everyone.

You will probably have to have your friend weld it or find a small little shop. Most big shops don't want the liability.

Lets see what we are looking at and go from there. we used to get that question all the time over the phone. I have to see it .how bad is it really it may look like a small hole but when you get into it ,the hole becomes section replacement. rust is a freak ,until you start poking around you dont really know.
go take a pic or meet me some where .
