hey guys. I have been having a very loud squealing noise coming from what sounds to be the driveshaft whenever i am moving. fast or slow. I first thought it was a bearing to one of the tires. But i was able to hear it better when the engine was off and i just pushed and pulled it enough to move the drive shaft. I was off roading last week and was in some muddy ice cold water for a while. was thinking maybe a bearing or joint on the drive shaft could be getting seized up. Any ideas or similar problems? Thanks!!

Go shake the hell out of your drive shafts look for any looseness and grease built up around the universal joint caps an the shafts or straps you might just need to replace the u-joints

so i just got back from the shop. The squeal isnt there when it is up on the lift. :( so the mechanic took a look at the u joints on the axles. and said the front ones need changed. that that could be the squealing and since they need replaced try them first. quoted around 400+ for the parts and labour? sound reasonable. But... sure enough i drove the jeep back just now and the squeal is gone. WTF.. for now? So i am going to get the u joints replaced and if its still doing it or starts again i will look into the CV joint on DS
