I was looking to buy a pair of Manik Nerf Side Steps. I have heard conflicting information about the installation of the side steps. I read one post stating that some one had to move the brake lines, but all the stores claim it is a direct bolt on with no modification needed.

Anyone installed these or know what the real answer is?

My jeep is a 2004 Wrangler Sport

Thanks

Finally got mine on! And I could find NO help on this anywhere (which is why it took a month and a half) so I thought I would post my results.

The bracket for the driverside front will not go on into the right spot without loosening the bracket for the brakes lines from the frame. I acutally detached 2 line brackets, one towards the front and one over the skid plate. The one over the skid plate might be optional tho, I think I could have done without loosening that one. Plus I broke it. So dont do it if you dont have to. Once those were loose I was able to get the front bracket under the lines and bolted on. The rear bracket should fit (very snugly) under the brake lines in the rear, you shouldnt have to move them.

These steps are a PITA to install so its a good thing I got a good deal on them or I would take them back. But I like the way they look, different then what Ive seen around (probably bc no one buys them...???) They will not be coming off anytime soon/ever.
