I have a 2016 jku with the 6 speed manual transmission and was trying to find someone who makes a replacement shifter to replace the stock one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I just picked up my manual on Monday and I definitely do not like the shift between 5 and 6. I am hoping it gets better as it breaks in.My issue with the shifter is really only over one thing. When shifting out of 5th to 6th it isnt a straight throw back but more a back nudge right to get it to drop into the 6th gear. With the amount of aftermarket items that you can put on a jeep was kinda shocked that there isnt a option for shifters.
It won't, but you will.I just picked up my manual on Monday and I definitely do not like the shift between 5 and 6. I am hoping it gets better as it breaks in.
Oh yeah, you guys are absolutely correct that it shifts pathetically. However, the way I look at it, the control (in my world) that I get from a manual is worth the 1926 row boat tranny that's in there. The sloppy shifter is why I went with an auto instead of the 6MT when I ordered.
After reading several different threads here, it led me to "see for myself" so I test drove a JKR with a soft top and 6MT that I had absolutely no interest in buying, just so that I could drive the standard.
I would compare the shifting to that of an early 80s Chevy or Ford pick up. It was doable, but just too damn sloppy for my tastes.
just my two cents worth

Yes, install that TJ shifter in your JK. Report back.
How do you get "more" control? You can also control the shifts on the auto.Oh yeah, you guys are absolutely correct that it shifts pathetically. However, the way I look at it, the control (in my world) that I get from a manual is worth the 1926 row boat tranny that's in there.
