My first jeep was a '78 CJ7, already lifted when I purchased it, so I've never had to deal with this.

I'm looking to upgrade this '07 Wrangler Unlimited X. It currently has 225/75R16. Everything I've read says that I can go up to 275/75R16 but I am getting conflicting information from the dealership. They say I can only go to 245/75 which is only about 1.18 inch difference in diameter. Not much of an "upgrade" to me.

I had them order 265/75R16 after they agreed to put them on and try it out before the actual purchase, but I'd like to save myself the time of waiting for those to come in, only to find they won't work. It works out to be about 31.5" diameter.

Currently, a lift is not an option. The damper keeps malfunctioning, on the right side. Dealership and 3rd party both insist nothing is damaging the part and that it is strictly just faulty dampers. I find that hard to believe but no one is finding a problem. If I lift now, any coverage on that part is null and void.

So, does anyone know what I can put on there without rubbing?

Rubicons come stock with 255's so you can fit those at the least... and others have gone larger with little rubbing, but be mindful of them if you offroad at all....

I recently upgraded my '07 X with General Grabber AT2 305/70R16 without a lift. No rubbing on-road...have not been off-road with them yet!
