I just got a 05 TJ after years of driving a large SUV with young kids. Convinced my wife to get a mini van and got myself a wrangler? I used to have an 88 back in the day and now with a lift and 33's but now I have kids and tow a boat so I don't want to go that big. Any suggestions for a small wheel upgrade? I don't want to lift, I am putting an air lift to give me better towing but don't want to go big big. currently running stock. Suggestions? (i'll also need new tires)

I think 31x10.5 with a modest spacer lift was a good upgrade for my daily driver:

Edit- and if you didn't want to lift (even a BB spacer lift), the general consensus is you can run this tire size at stock height no prob!

You can run 31x10.5's and may only need to add a couple of washers on each wheel stop. That's all I needed.

I run my 31x10.5 at stock height. Works fine, except when you turn the wheel all the way the tires rub on the sway and track bars. Spacers in front would fix it, just haven't gotten around to it

31x10.5 will fit stock

I decided to go with: 2006 TJ
AEV front leveling spacer 0.75" front lift
1.25" zone body lift
Novak shift cable
1" MORE motor mount lift
15x8" wheels 3.75" backspace
31x10.5x15 Firestone destination a/t
Skyjacker m95 shocks (2" longer front - stock rear length)

Even at full flex with swaybar disconnects it has never rubbed anywhere. Its turned out to be a balanced daily driver that does great on the trail.
