Mopar Extended Vehicle Protection Rental Reimbursement longer then 6 months

Rant ahead with the Mopar extended warrantee plan.

Long story short, last July my 2016 Rubicon engine was ticking for the 2nd time in less then 50,000 mile on my Jeep.
I dropped my Jeep off at the dealership (AutoNation Jeep in Pembroke Pines FL.) on 7-1-22. The tech told me it would be at least 2 weeks before they could even look at it. I was leaving town for a week so I was ok with that. Once I got back home I needed to get a rental car. The shop had my Jeep for over 5 weeks so I had a rental for over 1 month. I was finally able to pick my Jeep up 8-8-22.

Once I picked up my Jeep I started the process with getting my reimbursement for my rental car. I sent them all the necessary documents they requested and was told I should had a check by 3 months max. I called them at 3 months and they said they were backed up and it might be another month or so. Guess what, 1.5 months later still no check. I call them again and they told me they are so backed up it could take up to 120 business days to process a check.
Yesterday was day 120 business days without a check so I called them.
The first 2 people I spoke with either hung up after 20 mins or got disconnected (they had my phone number to call back what they didn't). The next guy I spoke with I told him I'm at the point of calling the BBB if this doesn't get resolved this phone call. Like magic Patrick told me the escalated the case and will receive a check shortly. I took over 6 months of calling them to finally get this resolved.

I'm thinking Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler has lost any future business from me and my family. Between the motor needing lifters replaced along with the radiator and other parts and the horrible customer service I'm done with them.

I love my Jeep and never plan to get rid of it but I'm not dealing with them in the future.

When they “fixed” the rocker tick the 1st time what did they do?

Replaced a few rockers and tappets, they had the Jeep for only a few days. The day they took my Jeep they sent me to their car rental place for a loaner. This was when it was still covered by the factory warrantee.

normally they replace all the rockers and tappets on the cylinder head. Not necessarily the camshafts.
This is from personal testimony here.
Sounds like they should have done them all.
Yup. Jeep customer service at its best.

Might have been 1 side the first time and the other side the 2nd time. The 2nd time I know they replaced them all.
MaxCare warranty has a time limit on how long a rental car is provided (wasn't aware of this until I took my JK in for the oil cooler housing and it was a couple of months inside the warranty period). To clarify, it isn't a duration of rental but the time window in which they will provide one. It works out ok for me now since my wife is retired and we can get by with one vehicle.

The 1st time they did my wife's '16 they only replaced a few tappets and rocker arms... no cams. The 2nd time they replaced all the tappets, rocker arms as well as all the cams.

How much extra money did they make piece mealing it?

Well 2nd time was a different dealership. W/ the Extended Warranty I was out another $100.
I priced out the job for each visit as if I paid full price for each.
1st visit would have cost $1164.90
2nd visit would have cost $3251.20
3nd visit, replace a tappet that was bad out-of-the box would have cost $1346.75

I had the Mopar Extended warranty. My left cylinder head had to be replaced in March off 2020 when poop hit the fan. almost 4 months my jeep sat at the dealer. You get a rental up for 5 days via warranty. Well I let the dealership work it out with Enterprise car rental that my dealer uses. zero issues.

When engie was being replaced, it took 2 weeks. Another dealer and the samr thing. THEY paid the rental car company (enterprise) and I only paid a $50 deposit each time. You should have never had to pay out.

Not if the issues are with the dealer. 4 months one time and 2 weeks the next time. It says max 5 days but if a dealer issue, they work it out.
That's a very nice Boxster Spyder. Is that Voodoo blue or Shark blue?

They are required to replace all rocker arms per S1309000016.

I wonder if this is also a prerequisite before they replace the cylinder head.

That was the progression they followed on my 2015, which developed the tick at around 80,000 miles without a CEL. First they replaced all rockers, lash adjusters, and one worn cam which didn't have any effect on the tick. They then replaced the LH cylinder head which eliminated the tick.

The 718 Spyders are hard to get new, less then 600 a year are shipped to the US. They only run the 718 Spyders and GT4 for a few years before stopping production for a few years, I was very lucky to get a Spyder allocation for an order last year. It's near impossible to get an allocation for a Spyder or GT4 now. The 718 Spyder is a convertible GT4. They both have GT3 brakes, suspension and motor .

That 3.6 sure has a spotty reliability record but people keep lining up to buy them so why should jeep/Chrysler/dodge care
