Bought a Boat this summer and the stock 4.0 Really doesn't have the Juice to make me happy. Thought about buying a truck, but they don't make trucks you can take the top off. So Instead of Selling my jeep and putting another 7,000 down on a new truck I've decided to check on the V8 Conversion. Problem is I dont' want to do it myself. Does anybody know of a shop(other than AEV) that does complete conversions on the east coast? I Have A 02
Z28 and really love my Ls1, so that's what I would want to put in it? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had a forged 402 dropped in my Vette and she is putting down 505 torque to the ground. More than enough power to pass while towing a boat. Look into crate engines and have one drop shipped to an installer of your choice. Depending on set up, labor for removal of old engine, install of new engine and tune may run $3500+ just for labor alone. Figure $4000+ for a new long block. But, it may just do the trick. I went with the SLP short block and built that up with AFR 225 heads, big cam, full exhaust. Granted my baby isn't meant for towing, but sure does surge your adrenaline passing a 2008 M6 at 190 mph.

What year is Your vette? Fuel Injected? My Z has a LS6 intake with performance injectors, Mild Cam, slp full exhaust and a dyno tune. It does pretty good for a Automatic, but I coulld only imagine the Hook Up you get with 505 torque. Yeah I knew that price was going to be a small fortune, but I love my jeep and plan on keeping it. I was just wondering if anybody knew of any smaller garages that may specialize in complete conversions. I Know that they are out there, just not familiar with any. Thanks again

What size is your boat that you are towing? Jeeps aren't really made for towing, their short wheelbase puts them in some hairy situations when towing. This situation would be made worse if you have more power giving you false confidence. Just be careful out there!

--nevermind you answered the question about Fuel Injection. it's just a 18.5 Ft Bayliner. I only tow it about 20 miles each way and not on the interstate. It does just fine. I mean the boat is not the only reason why I want a V8. Thats just the reason I'm giving my wife-Lol I can't tell her I want a V8 Just to be Cool now can I? Thats no justification in her eyes. Thanks guys!
