Most popular lift/shock setup on WF

This is just one setup. I recommend it all the time and many run it. I figure making a thread to link to instead of typing will save a lot of time.

Lift kit

Teraflex 2.5" coil lift without shocks or extensions why in bold ? Because without shocks or extensions, the rear frame side TB bracket is replaced with the better axle side bracket.
TeraFlex - JK 2-Door 2.5” Lift Kit

TeraFlex - JKU 4-Door 2.5” Lift Kit
Every thing is here to get you started ie. Swaybar links, bump stops, brake line brackets, etc

Shocks

Wait for it .........Rancho RS9000xl adjustable shocks. For the price can't be beat :thumb: Rancho RS999329 RS9000XL Series Front Shock Absorber for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK & Wrangler Unlimited JK with 3-3.5" Lift
Rancho RS999330 RS9000XL Series Rear Shock Absorbers for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK & Wrangler Unlimited JK with 3-3.5" Lift
Yes I know .. It says "4" of lift"
No worries .. The 29xl/30xl have a compressed length about 1" over stock (Rubi shocks)
You will have more than enough bumpstop to run these shocks. These shocks are just about perfect with a 2.5" lift

Edit 3/22/15 Rancho 5000x
I am adding Rancho 5000x shocks as a option. Cheap and the ride really well.
Rancho RS55329
Rancho RS55330

Caster correction
Any lift over 2" should have caster angle corrected. Low caster can create a flighty feel to the steering at speed.
Rancho New Geo brackets

-or-
Front lower control arms fixed or adjustable(choose brand)

2012+ only
If you're off roading with the swaybar disconnected. There's a good chance the front driveshaft might contact the exhaust crossover. Exhaust spacers move the crossover piping back adding clearance.

Extras
Recommended but not overly important.

Front Track bar (choose brand)
The rear is close to center with the bracket. A adjustable track bar will center up the front axle.

9/16 bolt kit
Why not ad some death wobble insurance. Heck .. All bolts should be loosened during install of the lift. A few extra minutes to swap in new bolts ... Why not :D

cool new option available

Just ordered my lift! Super excited. Just went with the Rancho 5000x’s. Excited for it to come in!!!
Who did you order it from?
Did they have it in stock?
And congrats.
I ordered it from Krawl Off Road (they posted a link up above)... You can customize the kit with what you want, and it was cheaper than buying individually... The package i chose was for the 2.5" kit with Rancho 5000Xs, Geometry Correction brackets... WIth their Christmas sale the total was $850... no tax and free shipping... Seemed like a pretty great deal to me.

Ken,
Great info. Subscribed for when I need the info. Btw the links to terraflex in your original post are broken. They probably updated their site.

I'm thinking of ordering the same kit you chose. Krawl Off Road kit too with the ranchos 5000x, geo brackets. Are the brake line relocation, etc. included like in the regular terraflex lift package? If I can get the same deal you got for $850 I'd jump on it.
I just ordered this TF 2.5" kit with the Rancho 9000's from Krawl Off Road yesterday. Jason was great to work with. They had better pricing than the other sites I looked at specially coming with the Rancho shocks. This is just after a year and a half running with a Rancho 2" Sport lift with the 9000's. It's a good kit but want a little extra height and hopefully as good a ride if not better. Also it didn't take long before I needed to add a 3/4" spacer due to a bumper and a winch. Hopefully once the TF lift is on it should be a bit taller and maybe not even need a spacer. 🤞 But we'll see! Looking forward to getting it but partially not really looking forward to re-installing a kit again so soon! 🙄

What did you order and pay? How do I work with Jason too?

I think he owns it. If you order the popular jeep lift option on their site that will have the components. His email is [email protected]

I ordered the Teraflex lift with the Rancho 9000xl shocks. Same as the popular lift by Ken minus the geo brackets. Already have adjustable lower front control arms. They have it for 950. I added the exhaust spacers for another 50 or so.
Just go on their website and send him a message about what your looking to get. He’s very helpful and quick to respond too.
Great kit that I had on my last jk. Just want to highly recommend clear coating or painting the Rancho shocks before install. I had the 5000x and they rusted horribly within the first couple years.
