If you really feel like you need to carry a Hi-Lift, and I stopped carrying mine years ago, I would just mount it inside to the rear rollbar support bases. Home Depot, Lowes, etc. have big rollbar-diameter u-bolts and wingnuts suitable for mounting it in their hardware and chain-link fencing aisles.
I went out and got a $500 rack to mount mine on. . Running local we don't bother to drag it around much, but on the long distance stuff it goes where we go, but up top and out of the way, and it's easy to get to. If you're just wheeling locally " quick fist" clamps can be used to mount it just about anywhere, inside or out..
