New 2009 JK owner - went through a "shallow puddle" that turned out to be door will deep. We tried to rock it out and ended up being towed out. Then clutch started squealing. Eventually would not shift into 1 or 2 gear. Power washed the clutch housing and it started shifting. Powered washed a couple more times and it began working much better, but still making noise. Had to drive it 700mi home and it worked fine, but still makes noise (although getting quieter). Have an appointment to have it looked at Thu. What are the odds that it will continue to get quieter and not need to be replaced? Any one else have this happen. The other posts I have read did not get better and usually had to be replaced. Thoughts? Thank you.

I did the same thing when I sunk mine headlights deep.

I rocked the heck out of it and killed the clutch. Then I learned that you can start a jeep in gear in 4lo so you don't have to press the clutch in deep muck.

Mine was a gonner, you might be OK with a good cleaning.
