My New Rubicon

After months of looking for a TJ in decent shape I finally gave up. The last straw was an 06 in "great shape". I asked him flat out if it had any rust, dents, or interior problems like rips. "No, none of those, excellent shape". I wasn't looking for perfection, just something reasonably clean. Do people not know what a dent looks like? Or, maybe I wasn't specific enough asking about the interior like "does it have cigarette burn holes in the seats"? WTH?

So, I'm done. I picked up a 2010 Rubicon today. Love it already. Only have a dealer pic at the moment.

sweet, congrats! and welcome to the forum
Welcome to WF!! Any mods planned already?
Hey thanks folks!

I haven't been able to get the smile off my face long enough to even think about mods yet. But I took it to my brothers and one of the first things he said was "No winch? We gotta put one on".
Congratulations on your new rig and welcome to the forum.

Not without a new bumper:) You'll probably need stiffer springs to accommodate for the sag, might as well get a lift while your at it. Lift means new tires and wheels. Tires mean regear and rear bumper with tire carrier.

Sorry started rambling there
Wow - nice find. Enjoy!

I take it your brother doesn't have a Jeep, so he needs you to winch him out of tight spots on the trail.:whistling:
Really cool! Noice ride!

Welcome aboard!
Great purchase, love the color!
Congrats on the pickup!

It is annoying that dealers will tell you ANYTHING they can to get you to come down and look. They can't make money unless they can get you to step onto the lot.
Hey thanks everybody.

I've already managed to put on over 100 miles and go through 1/2 tank of gas driving in a 10 mile radius of my home :)

It wasn't only the dealers that were saying "looks great no problems". The last one was a private owner. It was in good shape overall but nowhere near great. He obviously had fun with it. My expectations were just off. Older stuff gets driven hard and modded and I was looking for something that didn't exist so I finally figured out it was time to buy something newer.

Love it.

Nice! Sharp Jeep!
I cleaned it all up and took a picture. The more I drive it the more I love it.

:D Yep, I can easily see how this could happen.

Haaa! I'll make sure to tell him that. He told me some back-in-the-day stories about how he used to pull his buddy's stock CJ-7 out of snow with his modded Blazer. I can't see the Rubicon getting stuck much.
Fantastic! Congrats :thumb:
