I was just doing my first maintenance on my newly-acquired '94 YJ. I separated the shifter from the transmission as a quick way to refill the fluid (thanks to wranglerforum for the tip), but I discovered some kind of beveled bushing inside that the ball joint of the shifter rests on. It was about 30% missing (busted and fallen into the transmission, I'm sure). I managed to fish out the rest of it. It's so far gone I can't tell if it was rubber or plastic... it crumbles if you look at it too hard. Any hints on what the name of this piece is so I can find a quick replacement? Maybe a part number?

Thanks!

Doh, that was simpler than I expected. It's actually called a shift tower bushing. Google wins again! :pc-ouch:
