General commuting back and forth to school. And some occasional off roading and mudding maybe. I've found a few rubicons for about 14 or 15 with approximately 70 thousand miles. And I've found some Xs for about 15 16 with about 85000 miles. Is the safety that bad for the older ones? Is it Cheaper to mod the older ones? Things I'm trying to figure out.

My 97 TJ had 196k on it when I traded it 2 years ago and it was still going strong. So if you get one with less than 100k in good shape it should do fine.

Dang. Yeah I understand how long they last. Just not sure which one would be nicer and suit me best

Yeah I had trouble letting go of my TJ, but 5 just wouldn't fit in it :( . But I love my JKU too, but it hard to take it "hardcore" wheelin with what I have invested in it. That's something to take into consideration. If you go a little older you'll have more $ for mods.

I personally would go with an older rubicon. Even though you could always build a regular wrangler up to be better than a rubicon it's nice to have lockers already. "some" offroading with a rubi you can do a slight lift and throw on some beefy tires and be good to go

That's a package right there a low miles already lifted rubicon? I'd go for it you won't be disappointed. Youll already have enough mods to ride some trails and you can add small things as you see needed. Ultimate starter jeep

Well there are a lot of smaller mods. Can't really tell until you find out what kind of 3 inch lift is on it. That can range from 200-1500 alone. And the stereo isn't stock either. It's a great deal as far as I can see. If your serious about it do a thorough once over on it
