Ok, for my buddy's YJ, I'm working on a sketch for the paint job. It's inspired by the old WWII Jeeps.

The problem I've ran into so far is the numbering scheme. I believe part of the serial number on the old Jeeps contained the month and year of build, while other characters contained where it was built.

I'd like to have the numbering on his YJ be authentic to the military Jeeps, but with the build date and location of his YJ etc.

Can anyone offer some insight on how to get this information?

the date build should be on the driver side door frame on an ID tag. As for where it was built, thats usually coded into the VIN # .
