Changing rear axles on my LJ dana 44 rear to alloy axles.. Which way does the bearings fit on the axle? Don't wanta pull out the stock ones until the new ones ready to go! Thanks!! Robin

Do you have the squarish retainer bracket? You can't press the bearing and collar on unless you have the bracket. Assuming you are keeping your old shafts as spares, you will want new retainer brackets so you can keep the old set intact.

Since your LJ has disc brakes, make sure the retainer plate goes on with the lip pointing in like this.

Also, when pressing them on, do the bearing first and then the bearing retainer. Don't do them together or you may not get them seated all the way.
