Hello Everyone!

I'm relatively new to my new old 94 YJ.

after failing MD state inspection due to a leaking rear shock and a hole in my muffler. I decided to one: register it in my home state of West Virginia (perks of the military). two: replace all 4 shocks and muffler.

any tips or advice for removing the muffler and shocks? I know how to turn a wrench but that is about it. So armed with the Haynes manual and use of the on post do it yourself mechanic bays. What do I need to do to replace them?

shock are easy, just unbolt and replace. muffler I either take to shop to have welded in, or if I don't want to spend the money I'll weld. I don't like clamps.

when i bought mine it needed a new exhaust from the cat back. so, i clamped in a 4" peice of pipe to connect the cat to the muffler, they attached a flexible pipe to the back of the muffler and it bent almost to the rear of the vehicle. all in cost was 50 bucks. 25 for muffler, 6 for connector pipe, 8 for flex pipe, and the rest for 4 clamps and exhaust sealer. super simple job and works great.
